Luo Jing specializes in the research of permafrost thaw disasters and their impact assessment and mitigation technologies on engineering and the environment. He has led various projects including the second comprehensive scientific expedition to the Tibetan Plateau, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects (Youth Fund, General Program, Joint Fund projects, and International Cooperation and Exchange projects), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Innovation Promotion Association Talent project. He has published over 110 academic papers, including 80 SCI-indexed articles. As the first/corresponding author, he has published 24 papers in authoritative journals such as Science Bulletin, Geophysical Research Letters (NI journal), Catena, Applied Thermal Engineering, and Landslides (including 20 SCI-indexed articles, one of which is also listed in ESI as both a Highly Cited Paper and a Hot Paper). His publications have been cited a total of 2389 times (2135 of which are external citations), with a highest single paper citation of 88 times, and an H-index of 29. He holds 8 patents (including 1 international patent) and has 3 registered software copyrights. He has submitted 4 policy advisory reports, 2 of which were adopted by the Central Office of China. He was elected a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Innovation Promotion Association in 2020. He currently serves as the Associate Editor of the SCI journal Frontiers in Environmental Science (IF2023=4.6).
