Professor Yang Xiaoyan introduced research findings in environmental archaeology in East Asia from different research directions such as plant archaeology, animal archaeology, and molecular archaeology, including studies on ancient human subsistence patterns, the origin and spread of agriculture, and the history of human settlements on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Students actively asked questions, relating them to their own studies. Professor Yang Xiaoyan and Professor Wang Xin addressed each question, delving into deep discussions and providing explanations. The meeting was lively and orderly. This lecture not only brought students an exciting academic feast, helping them understand the frontier advancements of the discipline, and providing undergraduate students with an academic platform to exchange ideas with top scholars in the field but also brought warmth to Yuzhong students affected by road closures due to heavy snow. Let's look forward to the brilliant report by Academician Chen Fahu on the afternoon of March 7!
