On March 22, 2024, a delegation led by Professor Abazov Rafisj, Vice President of Kazakhstan National Agricultural Research University, visited Lanzhou University for an exchange visit. Li Yu, Dean of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Vice Dean Wang Xin, and Professor Li Wenlong from the College of Grassland Agricultural Science and Technology warmly received the guests. The delegation, including Vice President Abazov Rafisj and Director Epmekob Yermekov Farabi, toured the Key Laboratory of Western China's Environmental Systems, Ministry of Education.
Dean Li Yu extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Vice Dean Wang Xin provided a comprehensive introduction to the laboratory's research directions, scientific achievements, and outstanding accomplishments in international cooperation. The delegation members expressed sincere admiration for the laboratory's advanced scientific equipment, rigorous research attitude, and substantial scientific achievements.
Subsequently, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation. Vice President Abazov Rafisj stated that Kazakhstan National Agricultural Research University has a wealth of research resources and experience in agriculture and ecological environment fields, and is keen on collaborating with Lanzhou University in these areas to jointly promote progress and development in environmental science. Director Epmekob Yermekov Farabi expressed a willingness to share research resources and experiences to jointly enhance the transformation and application of scientific research results.
Dean Li Yu proposed that both sides could further their collaboration through joint research projects, mutual visits and exchanges of scholars and students, and co-hosting international academic conferences, particularly in the fields of Belt and Road climate and environmental observation, climate and environmental change, civilization evolution, ecological safety, and sustainable development. Vice President Abazov Rafisj and Director Epmekob Yermekov Farabi agreed and expressed their hope to implement specific cooperation plans as soon as possible.
This visit not only strengthened the friendship and cooperation between the two institutions but also laid a solid foundation for future scientific research collaboration. Both parties agreed to maintain close communication and collaboration, contributing their wisdom and strength to the field of ecological and environmental science research.
