Lanzhou University’s College of Earth and Environmental Sciences proudly announces that Researcher Ma Xuanlong has been appointed Associate Editor of the prestigious "Journal of Remote Sensing". This appointment, effective for the term 2024 to 2026, comes following a unanimous vote by the editorial board and an invitation from Wu Yirong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
The "Journal of Remote Sensing" is hosted by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and published in collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It is the only cooperative journal in the field of remote sensing published by Science since its inception in 1880. The journal operates on an open-access model, predominantly publishing high-level, breakthrough, and original scientific research findings from international remote sensing scientists, as well as scholarly articles addressing significant scientific issues in remote sensing. The editorial board consists of 30 renowned experts and scholars from China, the USA, France, Canada, Spain, Australia, India, and other countries. As a journal selected for priority support in one of the nation’s 20 key fields, it has received support from the "China’s Scientific Journal International Influence Enhancement Project Phase II 2019 D Category Project". Since its inception in 2020, it has been indexed by eight major databases including EI, WOS (ESCI), Scopus, DOAJ, CAB Abstracts, SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System, Inspec, and CNKI, reflecting its academic standard, impact, and recognition by the international academic and publishing community. This recognition aids in expanding the journal’s audience and lays a solid foundation for enhancing its international influence.
